Operations Engineer (Customer Facing)

We are seeking an Operations Engineer responsible for implementing and managing customer production infrastructure. You will build and manage automated infrastructure to ensure the availability and performance of the infrastructure (servers and network) used by our customers. You will be responsible for proactively monitoring and managing the infrastructure, developing processes and implementing tools to ensure a high level of responsiveness to customer needs.
We seek a candidate that can bring good ideas to the table. You will interface with customer facing and engineering teams daily.

Primary Responsibilities:
Manage an international, 24-7/always-on, multi-site infrastructure on Amazon Web Services.
Ensure proper security, monitoring, alerting, and reporting for the infrastructure.
Troubleshoot and resolve escalated issues.
Maintain processes, tools, and documentation in support of the customer environments.
Participate in an on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or 3 years equivalent experience.
Minimum of 3 years administration experience with multiple versions of Windows, Linux/UNIX.
Experience running medium to large scale Windows and Linux/UNIX production environments, preferably as part of a managed service provider.
Experience with server virtualization platforms, such as VMWare.
Experience with PaaS and IaaS technologies.
Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) highly desirable.
Strong working knowledge of Windows, Linux/UNIX and core systems services such as LDAP, DNS, SMTP, syslog, packet filters.
Experience with Oracle; installation, configuration and management.
Experience with network infrastructure and concepts including DNS, firewalls, routers/switches and VPN.
Strong scripting experience including shell scripting (Linux, Windows), Perl, PHP
Experience deploying multi-tiered software products in a Java environment.
Deep knowledge of software deployment and release management processes.

Experience with documenting procedures
Able to troubleshoot and resolve internal and customer problems in a timely manner
Strong communication, interaction and customer service skills with end customers and staff members

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
