How will you make an impact?
This individual will have responsibility for planning and execution of scientific activities during the research and development of oncology diagnostic oriented applications and systems. The successful candidate will drive assay development and platform integration R&D projects from concept to commercialization, working closely with product management, bioinformatics, manufacturing, and other R&D teams.
The successful candidate will ensure that projects are aligned to the needs of the customers and business, and that developmental timelines are met. In this position, results are driven through inspired focus and disciplined approach to product development, consistent with best practices in the industry and in compliance with appropriate regulatory requirements.
What will you do?
Thought Leadership:
Responsible for technical leadership of projects and assay development
Contributes innovative ideas for new products and intellectual property.
Writes technical and business communications including papers and posters.
Gives effective internal and external presentations
Technical Excellence:
Designs, plans and executes experiments in support of new product development.
Critically analyzes complex data using knowledge of the scientific field, and interprets and integrates experimental results with project objectives.
Performs statistical analysis and DOE methods.
Team Success:
Develops procedures and documentation for manufacturing and testing of new and existing products.
Interact cross-functionally to define products, transfer new designs to manufacturing, and ensure on-time product launches
Identify gaps in resources and capabilities in place to deliver ongoing product development functions
Cross train staff in areas of expertise
Supports technical questions related to on-market products
How will you get here?
Education and Experience:
Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Cell Biology, Genetics or a related discipline in Biological Sciences 3+ years of postdoctoral work OR a master's degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Cell Biology, Genetics or a related discipline in Biological Sciences AND 5 years of industrial experience in NGS product development focused on NGS technology and its application
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Think creatively, plan quickly, and act effectively.
Be an action-oriented R&D expert within a fast-paced research team.
Experience with analytical tools and methods in Python, R, and related languages.
Communicate effectively with representatives of R&D, project and product management, bioinformatics, manufacturing, and leadership.
Maintain a positive mindset, open to continuous improvement.
Familiarity with diagnostic methods utilized for molecular pathology and oncology.
Expert in application and analysis of molecular methods for technologies including qPCR, Sanger sequencing, microarray, and NGS.
Strong problem-solving, experimental, and data analysis & visualization skills
Works well with others, especially in multidisciplinary teams
Strong self-motivation with an independent, self-starter mentality
Demonstrated success in NGS technology and application development is highly valued

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
