About the Opportunity

The primary purpose of the job is to maximise the opportunity for the therapy area and brand by ensuring that the payer strategy is aligned with the business objectives. The role considers the knowledge of the external environment and the therapeutic area to devise the optimal payer strategy.

The role also entails developing the strategic initiatives, payer materials, toolkits, innovative partnership solutions to support the field based NOMs team. The role is also accountable for successful implementation of the payer strategy, measuring the impact of the payer programs and national access targets.

The role is key in ensuring the overall brand market access strategy (nationally and locally) for the brand and requires being able to work successfully within the Patient Access department and cross-functionally with the Business Divisions and Public Affairs.

Over the past 20 years, market access activities have become more and more critical for the commercialisation of pharmaceuticals and vaccines as increasing scrutiny on health care costs by institutional Payers occurred.

However, market access is not only about optimizing prices, or gaining recommendation and funding. Market Access is also about making sure that the relevant persons actually have access to the right innovative vaccine solutions we develop.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the NHS, health policy, specialised and highly commissioning process and the purchaser/ provider interface relevant to the therapeutic area

  • Develop a UK Value proposition and payer strategy and objectives for the brand/therapeutic area aligned with the business objectives and in collaboration with the wider office and field based Patient Access team and cross-functional teams

  • Develop the strategic initiatives and key tactics for payer customers

  • Work in collaboration with office and field based matrix trams,? to understand the key challenges, understand national and local priorities to provide strategy and support local teams to achieve access and/or remove and mitigate access blocks

About You

Essential requirements:

  • Strong Market Access and NHS knowledge

  • Understanding of NHS policy

  • Deep understanding of the business

  • Ability to prioritise and time-management skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally

  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills

  • Have a demonstrable track record of leadership without authority

  • Confidence and willingness to take on new challenges and manage multiple projects

  • Initiative

  • Certificate Level Health Economics ( or similar, or willingness to undertake training)

It would be advantageous to have (not essential):

  • Experience working with external NHS customers at a local level having demonstrated Account management skills

  • Regional or national level experience of stakeholder engagement and delivery of Partnership Projects

  • Understanding of Sanofi UK Patient Access processes and supporting functions

  • Demonstrated experience in project / process management to deliver outcomes

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
