Job Description
Summary of Internship
The NGS Molecular Biology Internship position provides an opportunity for students who are currently pursuing a life science and engineering degree to obtain experience in working in a fast-paced research and development environment. The molecular biology intern will contribute to projects in developing workflows and applications on Ion Torrent's NextGen Sequencing platforms. The position starts in June, paid working 40 hours per week through August.
Essential Functions
Learns about laboratory techniques and skills through daily activities.
Under the supervision of senior team members, plans and executes experiments in support of product development projects
Performs laboratory tasks such as nucleic acid processing, PCR amplification, DNA quantification and QC
Develops expertise in laboratory devices and instruments including Ion Torrent GeneStudio Sequencers
Maintains required lab notebook for record keeping. Analyzes data and report results.
Interacts with multi-disciplinary teams. Attends technical meetings. Presents findings to technical and non-technical colleagues.

Qualifications
Student currently enrolled in classes leading to a bachelor's degree in a life science or engineering discipline. The applicants will have completed at least their Sophomore year prior to starting the internship.
Knowledge of molecular biology principles and DNA sequencing technologies.
Experience working in a molecular biology or related laboratory setting through course work or past internships required. Hands on experience in molecular biology techniques including DNA/RNA processing, PCR, and DNA sequencing preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
