Office Assistant- Accounting

Job Description

The Office Assistant-Accounting is involved with various aspects of the Accounting Department. We are looking for a team player, who is flexible and willing to work within the various aspects of the Accounting Department team.


Perform administrative and accounting functions, including, but not limited to the following:

  • Assist with various stages of general ledger, revenue, accounts payable, and payroll

  • Follow a system of accounting policies and procedures

  • Maintain an adequate system of accounting records

  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system

  • Basic accounting and bookkeeping tasks as assigned by the Controller

  • Produce various reports as needed

  • Fill in for co-workers as needed

  • Other duties as directed by the Controller

  • Ad hoc projects as required


  • Accounting or bookkeeping background or equivalent business experience

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial data

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

  • Positive upbeat attitude

  • Excellent analytical skills, detail oriented

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments

  • High level of data entry proficiency and accuracy

  • Driving License, some driving required

  • High School Diploma or Two Year Associates Degree

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
